Obedience Is Key

Happy Saturday friends! I hope that everyone had a blessed holiday as we celebrated the best gift of all, the birth of Jesus! I’m thankful for Christ and who He is to me.

Today I want to talk about obedience. Being obedient to the things that God has told us to do is very important. When God gives us things to do it’s for a divine purpose and reason, and when we don’t do it we become out of God’s will. As I’ve mentioned before in previous posts that being out of God’s will for our lives is not the place to be. We delay God’s plan when we’re not sensitive to His instructions and when we are out of His will. God has amazing plans for our lives. We don’t want to miss it by being so focused on our fleshly desires. Being obedient to the Holy Spirit will put us in a place to receive the desires of our hearts. God can’t give us all we desire if we’re not ready or in the place to receive it. God may give you a little but He can’t give you the entirety knowing you will mishandled it. God wants us to be good stewards. When we’re faithful with little He will give us more. To whom much is given, much is required.

What are some things that you need to be obedient and do? Did God tell you to work on something but you've been putting it off out of fear or selfishness? Is God tugging at your heart to change some ways or bad habits but you’re resisting? Have God told you to bless someone but you’ve been hesitant or being stingy? Has God been pulling you to confront some personal issues but you're still handling them your way? God wants us to be in position to enlarge His Kingdom. He wants us to walk in our full purpose to grow into our full potential. He want us to become who He has called and created for us to be and it all starts with our free will. It starts with our willingness to be obedient to His what, when, where, and how, instructions. God will never give you instructions without helping you, guiding you and seeing you through. He would never ask you to do something that He knew you couldn't do. All He ask for is faith the size of a mustard seed and your obedience.

Today I challenge you to take some time and check your heart. Really be honest with yourself about what God has either placed on your heart to do or correct. What instructions has He given you that you’ve failed to do? What assignments have you failed to start or complete? Who have you failed to forgive or bless? What decision are you holding off on making? Failing to obey God is a matter of life or death. Your obedience can change the trajectory of so many situations.

My prayer today is that we check our hearts and truly, genuinely, choose with our free will to obey God and the things that He has instructed us to do. I pray that we will prepare ourselves for the future that God has promised us. That we will find peace in following God’s plan and timing. I pray that we will remember that we can’t do anything in our own strength and that our strength to progress and grow is in God. He is with us and with Him we can’t and won't fail.

With love,

-Yours Truly, Eb
